1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Brain Ripe UG (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use the Brain Ripe mobile application (the “App”).
The App is available globally via the Apple App Store. We comply with all applicable privacy laws including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), Brazilian LGPD, Canadian PIPEDA, Australian Privacy Act, and others.
2. What Data We Collect and Why

App Usage Data (via Apple Screen Time API)
We access:
- Daily screen time totals
- Per-app usage data
- Your personal screen time ranking
Purpose: To provide the core functionality of the app, including screen time insights, app blocking, and friend-based rankings.
Storage: Securely stored in Firebase Firestore.

Account & Username
Users do not register with email or Apple ID. Each device is assigned an anonymous ID. Users can set a custom username.
No personally identifiable information (PII) is required to use the app.

Friend System Data
Stored data includes:
- Your chosen username
- List of accepted friends
- Shared daily screen time data
- Usage time per app (shared with friends only)
Visibility: Only friends you’ve mutually accepted can view your screen time, ranking, and usage.
Before accepting a friend, users can only see usernames.

Firebase Firestore
We use Google Firebase Firestore as our backend database to store:
- Anonymous device IDs
- Username, friend lists
- Daily usage and ranking data
Note: Brain Ripe UG does not access, process, sell, or analyze this data outside of providing the in-app experience.

Advertising Data (Google AdMob)
We use Google AdMob to show in-app ads. Google and its partners may collect:
- Device ID (IDFA)
- IP address, OS, device model
- Interaction and ad performance data
Ad data is processed solely by Google under its Privacy Policy.
You can manage ad settings here:

- iOS Settings > Privacy > Tracking
We do not collect or process ad data ourselves.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
Your data is never sold, rented, or shared with unauthorized third parties. The only service providers involved are:
- Google Firebase (Firestore) – to store user and usage data.
- Google AdMob – to deliver advertisements.
These services comply with GDPR and other international regulations through data processing agreements and legal safeguards.
5. International Data Transfers
Firebase and AdMob may process data on servers located outside your country (e.g., United States).
We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and Data Privacy Frameworks to ensure lawful international transfers of personal data under applicable laws.
6. Data Retention
- Friend and screen time data is stored until account deletion is requested.
- Deleting the app from your device does not automatically delete your data.
- AdMob retains ad interaction data under its own policies.

Brain Ripe is not intended for children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect data from users under this age. If we discover that a child has submitted data, we will delete it promptly.

The App may contain external links (e.g., support resources). Brain Ripe UG is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party websites.
Additionally, we do not moderate usernames and cannot guarantee they are family-friendly or appropriate. Please report inappropriate content.
10. Security
We use modern, industry-standard safeguards to protect your data:
- Secure connections (HTTPS/TLS)
- Firebase Authentication and Security Rules
- Apple iOS security frameworks
- Logical access controls
No system is 100% secure, but we take privacy and protection seriously.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when necessary. Any changes will be reflected here, and major updates will be communicated through the App.
